The Butterfly Pavilion - As the first stand-alone nonprofit insect zoo in the nation, The Butterfly Pavilion is a 30,000 sq. ft. facility covering five acres. 6252 West 10th Ave , Westminster (303) 469-5441. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm.

Located one hour west of Denver in a historic mining town, this is the fifth oldest opera company in the U.S. The Opera House was built in 1878 and was recently refurbished.  Colorado History Museum - The museum is operated by the Colorado Historical Society, which was founded in 1879. It offers a collection of artifacts, historical documents, maps, photographs and other historical treasures.

This program is offered by the Colorado Department of Education. CTBL provides postage-free recorded, Braille, and large print library materials to visually impaired readers in Colorado.

Coors Field - Opening in 1995, this 76-acre ballpark stands at 20th and Blake streets in Denver 's lower downtown. Every year since it opened, Coors Field has been a league leader in attendance. Seniors may purchase a ticket to see the Rockies Baseball Team for $1.00 the day of the game. Tours of Coors Field Ballpark tours are conducted Monday to Saturday year-round and provide a "Behind the Seams" look at Coors Field. These are walking tours that last 75 minutes and cover a distance of approximately one mile. Areas covered on tours include concourse areas, Club Level, Suite Level, Press Area, Visitors' Clubhouse and Visitors' Dugout (all areas are subject to availability depending on the locations of activity within the ballpark at that time). Denver Art Museum is recognized as one of the top museums in the country. Over the next several years, the Museum will be engaged in the process of expanding its existing facility. The Museum offers permanent exhibits including Bears and Sea Mammals, Gems and Minerals, Egyptian Mummies, Rare Bird and much more. In addition, the Museum is home to the IMAX Theatre. Journey back in time with a ride on one of Colorado 's great narrow gauge railroads. Just 45 miles west of Denver along Interstate 70, the Georgetown Loop is 3 miles of narrow gauge track that spans 2 miles between the historic towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume. Originally built in 1884, the tracks climb an elevation of 640 feet over mountainous terrain, providing a wonderful way to see the stunning Clear Creek Valley. The School of Continuing Education has a well-developed catalog of classes on Arts, Wellness and Meditation, and the Environment. They also offer a summer writing program articulated in four weeks

The Academy is a Lifelong Learning Institute organization dedicated to offering academic courses to adults with flexible hours. Courses are offered in south Denver . There are no examinations, grades, or prerequisites other than a love of learning. The curriculum is steeped in the traditions of the liberal arts but also includes subjects on current events and matters of topical interest. The normal offerings include music, economics, literature, foreign policy, history, and art. 

The University of Denver 's provider of adult education, University College offers a wide variety of courses that foster "learning for a lifetime." For example, you can tap into your hidden literary talents by choosing from dozens of creative writing courses. Or polish up on one of 11 modern languages for use in business or travel.
